Week 1
The start to the week prompted a period of quest and discovery that ended with the assignment of research.
I began looking at what structure fits most songs of this genre and a lot of effort then went into getting the right sound for the piece. Composition:
From the research into contemporary artists I saw there was a lot of synthetic sounding percussion and only certain artists use fuller drum kits in their mixes.
As for the piece; it was kept short to around 3 minutes to keep with the genre. The drums have a loud and full sound to stand out in the mix, to accompany a melody of synth strings and piano.
