Project 1:

Starting halfway through a course makes it hard to assess the qualities of your team mates, I had some trouble with reliability because of this. Morgan wasn't able to work effectively on his own without motivation or guidance, so I organised weekly meetings to see if he was still on track and grew increasingly worried when halfway through the project there had been very little progress made. I brought this up at the weekly meetings from week 2 but by week 4 I realised he would need a bit of a push so I firmed up in my approach and told him to get his arse in gear. I'm paraphrasing of course, but this worked out because a few days later the assets were delivered. Morgan was understanding in regards to the approach and was willing and capable to work once reminded. I don't think I would work with Morgan again because of his work ethic, and inability to plan ahead. Blake and I bonded through the first project and got to know each other a bit more, I respect his work ethic and recognise his technical skills with protools.

Project 2: The ability to work in a team is very important in a work environment for the completion of greater goals than a single person can achieve. Blake and I work well in a team because our skills complement each others. The best way to achieve effective teamwork in my opinion is to create an atmosphere of acceptance and equal opportunity, through positive attitude. While working with Blake through this trimester I learned the levels of his skills and was able to set tasks in regards to our individual skillset.

His practical skills with protools balance well with my input and direction, if there was something I thought we should try then he knew how and was willing to do it. As a team we bounced ideas off each other creating a plan of attack and acted upon it. We regularly hold conversations about future events and if we're on schedule, this helps us communicate better as a team and helps develop working relationships in the future. Blake and I both split the sounds 50-50 in the plan and we kept to that for the most part, though some of the sounds were done together for the experience involved. Blake and I both kept well up to date with all the workload, the plan was followed correctly and we delivered all the sounds on time for the beta testing. I would work with Blake again because his work ethic is similar to mine, his ability to think ahead of time makes things easy to work with as we both do this.
