A Time-Lapse of a Student.

For my second Project this tri I've taken it upon myself to create 3 techno/DnB tracks for Blake Grosskruetz's time lapse of his day in the life of a student. To begin with this will be a true test of my ability to create a good mix in a genre I'm not familiar with, in a time crunch - 4 weeks. I've been given a few reference tracks to start from Savage - Paces Cloud 9 - Nurko She wants me dead - Cazzette

These are all fast paced techno songs/club hits, that each give specific instrument references that help shape a new sound.

So I've given myself a steady week to compose the songs. I'll be aiming to compose them all on the one session file and mix them within the same session making a song that blends together at the end of each song. The songs will all be in the same key and tempo, with similar properties, but will each have their own unique characteristics and be mastered differently. Week1 : I will aim to have the composition of all 3 songs completed. Week2 : Vocalist recording Week3 : I will aim to have mixed all 3 songs Week4 : I will aim to have completed all 3 mixes and will attempt mastering. I've booked a female vocalist to come in for week 2, So I need at least the baseline of all 3 songs done before she arrives. The aim will be to record a few verses/choruses that Blake has written. Then sample them in the style of the reference tracks. This will require some additional research into how to achieve the effects. If there is a time restraint problem, which is the most likely risk involved with this project I may call on help from someone with expertise in this genre, specifically with the drums.
